Top 5 Games I Hate, But Everyone Loves

Well, now that the dislikes are gone....let's move to the games I hate so much I wish I had all the copies in the world to destroy and watch the fans of those games cry tears of sorrow.

5. Farmville: Dear god, does this game suck. All you do is farm and stuff while making people always look at your farm and just argue about who's farm is better then who's farm. Seriously, there was a game that did this already people it was a called Harvest Moon, but at least that game had more interesting things in it. To me the only absolute thing that made this game popular in the first place was because it was free. I know people say it's a great social game and people have fun managing their own farm well congratulations I don't give a crap. To me the game is the same pile of manure you guys us for your crops.

4. Demon Souls: Why do people even buy this game is beyond me. Famous for it's bullshit impossible hardcore levels, Demon Souls is a game where all the hardcore players go to in order to die multiple times and then haunt around like little ghosts trying to find out how to beat the impossible bosses. Seriously, I played the game and I died 15 times on the first fricken level. I never even bothered getting past the second level as the game is just...too...hard. Its okay to have a difficult game, that's fine, but there is a limit to how stupid and frustrating it is to die every five minutes on every level until you get lucky and beat the game after weeks of trying or shove a baseball bat through your TV screen.

3. TMNT The Game: I never liked the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, even as a kid. Not the movies, not the TV shows, I was alright with some of the comics, but I hated the game the most. I never had any friends to play this game with (I had a lonely childhood) and every time I did try to play I grew to hate it even more. The levels were poorly designed in my opinion, especially the Hudson River level, and the bosses were so cheap it was unbelievable. Plus, only one of the Turtles seemed to work for me and that was Donatello because of the range of his bo-staff while the rest died faster then Mayflies. And I hate...hate...the Technodrome....fuck it to hell!

2. Animal Crossing: Besides being a Sim's rip off, Animal Crossing was weird...stupid...and had no drive to it. I absolutely had no feelings at all when I played this game except frustration. From Tom who's always talking about his huge ass debt to the fact that I can't figure out why I'm the only human (Or am I) in a town filled with Anthros? The characters look and sound like a bad case of mixing meth and pot, the art style looks out of place and there is no overall goal except...what is it exactly? Even the Sims has more purpose then this game. I mean you have to really live like a normal human in Sims, but in this game your just...walking around and fishing. Totally a bore and I can't believe I wasted money on it.

1. Mega Man: Or at least till after the third game. I got sick of Mega Man a long time ago and to this day I want to just take the blue robot bastards arm cannon and shove it up his ass. Don't get me wrong, Mega Man should be remembered for all he's done for us, but to have thousands upon thousands of remakes that all have crappy controls and combat or the same old shit in most of them, unoriginal plot, characters that suck (Except Zero, I consider him separate) and anime's that make Bayblades look like Kenshin are just mind-blowing. I hate this game so much that I can't think of a word or a way to make me say how much I hate this game series. People say that Sonic is the series that has met it's end, but in my opinon Mega Man should die first before Sonic ever does.

Those are the top five I hate. Don't like it?! Tough, I have my own opinion.

The Top Five Game I Dislike, But Everyone Else Loves

People naturally have their own opinion on what they like or dislike. I'm no different and since this blog is really all about my opinion I guess it's no surprise that I have views that differ from everyone else. But there is a differance between dislike and hate. When I dislike a game I can still respect it and still declare it a really good game, I just don't like it. But when I hate a game I have to just bash it until the end of time.

For now I'm only going to post the top five game I dislike, but everyone loves to death!

5. Fable series: I don't care what Peter Molyneux says, Fable is not the greatest RPG in the world. Fable's unique thing is that it's a game that allows you to explore the world and do whatever you want with your usual RPG elements and in each game that is made there are more features added to make the game feel more unique. Plus, whenever you do something evil or good it shows on various character features on you and effects how people see you in the world. But hasn't something like this been done already. Oh yeah the Elder Scroll series which has a better plot, bigger world, more quests, and a combat system that does screw you over with the controls. Don't get me wrong I give points to Fable for trying to be outgoing, the problem is is that somebody already beat them to it.

4. Final Fantasy 9: This is a shocker to most people who know me because I love JRPG's and I love Final Fantasy. But my least favorite is not 8 or 10 or even the online game that most people always complain about. To me it's 9. Why? The plot isn't really FF material in my view, the characters are all annoying and creepy (except for Kuja and Vivi) and the protagonist, Zidane,  is...the worst FF male protagonist ever....(Vann does not count because we all know he wasn't the protagonist of ff12 and yes I prefer Tidus to Zidane...almost). The combat system was alright, the music was good, and the art was beautiful. I just don't like the rest of it because I just can't take it or the world seriously. I mean just look at Queen Brahne, she looks like a combination of Rosie O'Donnell and a smurf. Hell, I'm not even sure that is a woman....then again I don't want to find out.

3. Fallout 3: I've never played Fallout 1 or 2, but everyone kept talking about Fallout 3 and I thought. Okay, I'll give it ago. To this day I have never played a game where I died 61 times before just giving up and killing everyone and everything I could find in a berserk rage. I did eventually finish it, but I swore never to play it again. Fallout to me was just confusing with all the menus and controls and combat system. It never wore on me and while I did like the open world atmosphere and the ability to do cruel things that made you feel like the spawn of the devil himself, I couldn't feel most satisfaction with the game and I just couldn't buy into it. I'm not saying it's a game that shouldn't be played or respected, I'm just saying that I'll just stay in my tunnel world before I travel onto the surface world again and get beaten to death by mutants unless I have an unlimited supply of mini-nukes.

2. Pokemon: Yes I was a Pokmon fanatic before I grew into like Digimon (Yes it does still live) and even then I just started realizing the game was just the same thing over and over again. Name yourself something dirty, get a starter, meet a rival who takes your starters weakness starter, capture Pokemon, fight evil organization, win badges, defeat rival a few more times, beat the final boss, get all legendary Pokemon and repeat it for every game. I don't hate Pokemon, in fact I love it it's just as I got older and figured these monster of mass destruction could be better used for a more mature purpose. I mean come on? Anthromorphic beings with destructible powers? How come we haven't gotten a Pokemon War game or something like that. I just want to see something different. That's why I love Mystery Dungeon. It took the lore of Pokemon and made it awesome in a direction it should be going.

1. Angry Birds: HOLY SHIT! SOMEBODY WHO DOESN'T WORSHIP ANGRY BIRDS! THE RAPTURE REALLY IS COMING! First off, I realize that Angry Birds is a great success and deserves it's praise. I just...don't...dig it. I mean I played it a few times, but I didn't laugh. I didn't feel anything. I just...didn't get anything out of it. I mean it's about using a slingshot to fire birds at pigs, I should be laughing my ass off. But I don't and I don't know why. I keep asking people why I can't laugh and they look at me like I just have three heads with a goat up my butt. I don't hate the game...I just can't see the big deal about it is. It's strange because I like games like this, but why don't I love this game which has gotten more attention then any of the similar games before it? Help me understand here!
Come here soon and hear about the five games that I hate, but everyone seems to love.

Review: Mortal Kombat (2011)

The author does not own any of the pictures that are presented here

Holy shit….this game is awesome. You have no idea how much I am glad to see my favorite fighting game series come back to life in this epic sequel/restart of one of the greatest and famous games of all time, MORTAL KOMBAT!!

Mortal Kombat is one of those games that everyone in both the gaming world and outside of it knows of. From its amazing simple and fun combat system; to the bloody and limb tearing fatalities that leave your mother having a heart attack from seeing so much gore and violence, Mortal Kombat is one of those games that is just that famous.

Created in 1993, Mortal Kombat, developed by Midway, became not only one of the most popular arcade games, but also one of the most controversial. Mortal Kombat featured blood, ripping out hearts and spines, burning flesh, and tons of violence. So much so that this game is often credited to being the game that forced the ESRB rating system on our products.

Besides the violence, Mortal Kombat featured a lot of new things back then.  For one, all the characters  had the same move set except for a few special attacks.  Multipunches, Sweeps, and the ever famous Crouching Uppercut, were moves that not only could be easy to pull off, but it made you always have to guess which of the moves your opponent would know that could counter those as well. There was even a blocking button, something Street Fighter didn’t use until later, that could block any of those attacks as long as you held it down making the combat more realistic.

Another two things that Mortal Kombat did that was unique was the intro to the concept of Juggling and the Fatalities aka the finishing moves. Juggling is when you knock your opponent into the air and keep them up in the air as you hurt their poor defenseless little bodies with multiple attacks. Fatalities however were the one thing that separates Mortal Kombat from every game out there. After you won two rounds, a voice would cry out “FINISH HIM!”and you would have a very short amount of time to input a combo that would perform a deadly finishing attack that not only embarrassed your opponent, but made you look badass as well. Hell, the most famous one at that time when it first came out was Sub-Zero’s where he ripped your head and spine out of your body. I dropped my mouth when I saw that for the first time!

From there on numerous sequels of hits and misses, movies, Tv shows, comics, and more of Mortal Kombat have continued for the past 18 years! Now we have the new Mortal Kombat 2011 developed by NetherRealm Studios (Once called Midway Games Chicago), or as I just call it MK9, and it is one of the best Mortal Kombats to come out in a long time. This may even be better than MK2.

1.     1.  Graphics
Ever since coming to 3D, I’ve kind of always wondered if that was the best move for Mortal Kombat to go by. Mortal Kombat was original a 2D game, but like most 2D’s they of course changed to 3D. And while a part of me loves the old style more than the new one for nostalgia reasons, I have to admit that the 3D Mortal Kombat games always seem to impress me with their graphics. The graphics are just great, each detail from the character’s body movements to the background action on the stage your on work like a charm. Coloring for each character is well played and everyone is dressed in better costumes then they were before. But what I like most are the arenas, every one of them feels unique and different allowing you to feel that you’re actually playing in the world of Mortal Kombat. And some old stages such as the Pit and Goro’s lair make their return with a new updates style that makes it more artistic then the previous version, but also wisely keeping a bit of their old styles that blend well with the new elements.

And the gore, my god the gore is just awesome. So much detail put into the human body that every character from the bones and organs to the blood and muscles. The X-Ray attacks always make me astonish into how much detail they put not only into the human bodies, but the inhuman ones like Reptile and Baraka. You will see a lot of blood and harm on your characters as they fight and the fatalities make every single head smashing, limb tearing, chest ripping, and spine crushing move look painful and deadly.

2.     2.  Controls
The old style is back! I’m talking about the good old fashion style we had with MK 1 and 2. No super long combo list or complications, no switching into a weapon mode, and no different fighting styles. It’s just good old fashioned 2D combat style which is something many Mortal Kombat fans, myself including, have been begging to return ever since Deception. It’s been proven that 2D combat style in a 3D world works well in fighting video games (just look at Street Fighter 4) and I’m glad to see that they decided to do it with this game. The combat plays much like the original games with 2 moves for the first, 2 for the legs, a throw button, and a block button.  Special Moves and combos are performed by inputting the right controls and don’t worry about the complications of the combos, they are simple and easy to learn for anybody from the combo study people to the button smashers like myself. This also goes with Fatalities too.

The style is so simple and good that there really isn’t much to talk about it other than you’ll get the hang of it after an hour or so. For newcomers into the series, you’ll be able to fight like a pro in no time. For the veterans of the old games, you’ll feel your muscle memories get the feel back in a matter of minutes.

3.      3. Gameplay
-Where do I begin? This game has so much gameplay and content it’s unbelievable, you can do so much with this game for weeks and still have something to do. First let’s talk about the combat first, like I said before it’s simple and easy for everybody to learn so you’ll have plenty of interesting fights ahead of you both against the Com and other players. But now there is a new element to the game, a power meter. The power meter has enhanced the gameplay a lot, when you make a combo, perform a special move, or get your ass beaten too much the meter will start to fill up. There are three sections of the power meter and each one has a special function. Fill it up a third of the way and you can use it to perform a special enhanced attack with any of your special moves. Fill it up two-thirds of the way and you can use the Breaker function, which returns again, to stop your opponent in mid-combo and do damage. Finally when you have it all full you can perform an X-Ray move. The X-Ray move is when you do a special slow mo combo, each unique for each character, that shows how the attack damaged the inside of the opponent in a grueling fashion. It’s perfect for Mortal Kombat, almost like a lower version of the Brutalities.

Fatalities are back of course, as are stage fatalities where you have to perform a certain input for each character to do so, but also back are Babalities where you can perform the ultimate shame on your opponent and turn him into a baby. It’s hilarious and awesome!

Now you think with all this already in the game that would be enough, but no. There is now a Tag Team battle system which has never been done before in any Mortal Kombat game. And it works so well, I have always dreamed of seeing Scorpion and Sub-Zero team up in a fight and now I can play such an event. It plays similar to the Tag Team system of Tekken a bit and it may get some getting use too, but you’ll have massive amounts of fun. Especially since these battle can be played up to 4 players!

Now let’s talk game modes.

Like the last game we have a story mode, but we’ll talk about that in Story.
You got your classic Latter gameplay just like in the original Mortal Kombat games where you fight a bunch normal opponents followed by two insane ones later on and then get a character ending that may or may not be canon in the next game. Goro and Shao Kahn are dangerous and hard as hell, I’m talking their original first appearance hard. It’s frustrating, but you will go back just to see that get to see that moment where Shao Kahn blows up. There’s also a Tag Team Latter mode too for and it’s quite fun to play.
And you got your original Test your Might and a few other Tests as well that are fun to play and of course you got a practice mode, tutorial mode, Fatality tutorial mode, and the Krypt.

There’s also the Challenge Tower which has 300 different challenges for players to go through, the higher you go up the tower the harder they get and the more currency you get for each victory to be used in the Krypt.

With so much to do it’s a wonder how I’m even going to finish any of this in even one year.

4.    4.   Story
-Mortal Kombat has always had a unique story that has gotten more complex every game, but here is the bases. There are many realms in the universe such as Earthrealm, Outworld, Edina, Netherrealm, Orderrealm, Chaosrealm, and more. In order to protect the realms from being invaded, the Elder Gods created a tournament called Mortal Kombat where fighters from two realms fight each other until one is dominant. Should a realm win 10 Mortal Kombats in a row, they are free to invade the world. This was the story of the first game, where Liu Kang, Sonya, Jonny Cage, and Raiden fought and defeated Shang Tsung and his minions, who served the warlord Shao Kahn.

Then of course the was the Outworld tournament, the invasion of Earthrealm, the revival of the fallen god Shinnok, the Deadly Alliance and death of Liu Kang, the rise of the Dragon King and the rise of the fallen Raiden, and then Armageddon.

This game is a squal but also a rewrite of the entire series in a way. The story takes place at the final moments of Armageddon where every character in the MK universe is dead except for Shao Kahn and Raiden. Before Shao Kahn kills Raiden, Raiden sends all his memories into his past self during the first Mortal Kombat game and it takes it from there.

We now get to see what actually happened in the first three Mortal Kombat games while having a few surprising changes thanks to Raiden’s attempts to change the timeline for the better of the future(Trust me when I say there are a few good shockers). Sometimes the dialog seems a bit forced and the scenes change a bit too fast without getting much story in, but for all its purposes it keeps the story well played and it’s nice to see that were getting a fresh new story that plays well for both newcomers and veterans, so credit to the writers of NetherRealm Studios.

5.      5. Characters

-The number of characters in this game is just right, not too few and not too many. Every character from Mortal Kombat 1 to 3 is in this game along with a new character that I won’t reveal because it will shock you as well Quan Chi, from MK4. Each character still remains his or her original like traits and likeness along with a few new inputs. Some characters back stories have changed, like Kabal’s, but for the most part every character is well made and well acted.

What’s also great is their uniqueness on how their played. Characters like Liu Kang, Scorpion, Kano and a few others are easy for beginners while others such as Shang Tsung, Ermac, and Noob Saibot are very difficult to master, but still fun to play as.

6.    6.   Sound
-Great voice acting? Original sounds(GET OVER HERE!)? Well done music? I can’t see anything wrong here can you?

OVERALL: 5/5
This is the best fighting game out there right now. I demanded that you buy or so help me I will Finish you all myself.

Best Mortal Kombat game to come out in a long time.

Bloody awesome.

Review: Dynasty Warriors 7 (Some Spoilers)

(As usual, I don't own any of the pictures)

Well it's that time again. Time to take one of the greatest historical novels of all time and turn it into a video game or an anime. When you think about it the Three Kingdoms Era is perhaps one of the most used wartime periods for media next to WWII and the Sengoku era. Dynasty Warriors is one of those well known ones.

The famous hack and slash army style series was not always like this style to be honest, originally it was a 3D fighter that evolved itself into the mook killing style that it is today. Many fans love it, but there are also many fans who hate it just as much. Many praise the creative use of the characters and the elements from the original Romance of the Three Kingdoms book while others criticize the same storyline aspect and repetitive gameplay.

To be fair, the game was originally intended to be centered around Asian audiences because of their love for the bloodiest times in their nations history much like us in the west do for wars that we won, but western audiences grew in love with the game overtime so Koei's decided to focus on both sides. There have been ups and downs with the series overtime, but I can safely say that this Dynasty Warriors game is much better then it's last one which was, in my opinion and a lot of other peoples, the worst one ever. But I won't just be talking about the seventh game only, I'll also be talking about the series in general a bit as well.

1. Graphics

If there is one thing that both the critics and the lovers of the series have to admit is that with each new game the graphics get better and better. If you take a look at Dynasty Warriors 4 you'll see the old famous PS2 style that many games were using back then and then take a look at either 6 or 7 and you'll go "Holy crap this is like entering a whole new fricken world!". In 7 the graphics are much better, details to each character are unique, and the environments are given a much more attention in this one. Seriously, just look at the water they made. Any person in the industry will tell you that making water is HARD! Yet another thing I have to address also are the games effects. The fires, the power blasts, even the explosions make you want to act like a 2 year old and just dazzle at them like they were in your face. I've got to give credit to that. So in a nutshell, graphics are pretty f'ing sweet.

2. Controls

The controls for this game have always been pretty much the same in every series so that's no much to go on. If your new to the series and you just started playing you'll get use to the controls after your first battle. For all of you veterans out there it's like playing the controls before 6's stupid Renbu system that made the game too easy. You've gone one button you keep pressing to use normal attack and your power button which you use in the middle of the combo to use a high powered special attack that does more damage. Add in jump, guard, and your Musou attack and your mostly good. Archery is still not back, but your character can equip a second weapon that can be a bow or crossbow but more on that later. Other then this, it's the same as it's always been.

3. Gameplay
Here is where both the good and the bad come into play with Dynasty Warrior games and it's counter parts. The first thing you'll  notice is that pretty much every mook and common solider you fight against will die in less then 3 seconds upon meeting you and his wife will be told of his death and she'll cry into tears (Don't you feel guilty?). Nearly every enemy you fight will be to easy to kill and the game tries to even this out by making them swarm like Zergs. The only threat these lemmings are to you are killing your own allied officers who are as weak as slugs. I mean if you have an officer who prides himself on being the "God of War" he's certainly not the type of guy to just fall dead from a weak peasant's spear attack. There are only three real threats to this game and those are enemy officers, the main characters on the enemies team (With half of them cheating like hell), and Lu Bu who is Nightmare Fueled hate and anger rolled up in a black armored man with a spear that will chop your balls off. (Don't believe me? Play the Hu Lao Gate level on any of the games on hard more and try to beat him. Not easy). There is also the threat of failing mission that will cause your army to lose and that's most likely the most difficult thing in this game. Be sure to keep an ear open for important events so you don't get left behind.

But besides fighting endless waves of enemies and being called a "Hero of the Three Kingdoms" over and over again, there are some other aspects to the gameplay. The first is that the return of missions in the battles from Dynasty Warriors 6 have returned and they play a much more important role in the game. I kind of like this, it gives you the sense that there is a strategy in the works and you need to do it right for the sake of the battle or else all hope is lost. Sure there were these in the previous Dynasty Warrior games, but with most of those levels I could just get on my Red Hare pony, smack a few dozens in my way, find the leader of the enemy army, kick his ass, and win the day to get drunk on Chinese wine and dumplings. In this game it gives the player a duty to follow the wisdom of their armies strategist in order to make sure they win which gives a better army like feeling.

But perhaps the most changed thing about the game is the fact that it allows you to play with two weapons. This is taken from the battle style from Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce where characters could equip whatever weapons they want. The same applies her and I like it. You could have Guan Yu using his famous Blue Dragon Spear and then using a pair of nun-chucks fighting all Bruce Lee style or you could have Xu Chu wielding a staff like Pang Tong to him using a sickle and chain making him jump around like a ninja. It's very entertaining and although most of the movesets are the same, each character still has their own unique weapon and special attacks as well as their own original Musou attack. Not like 6 which gave only a certain amount of characters those. Plus some of the weapons are really fun to use like a guncannon, a paint brush and even a iron mechanical drill (insert Gurren Lagann joke here).

Now to talk about the game modes. The first one is Story mode, but I'll get to that later when I'm talking about the story. After that you have Conquest mode which is a board like world where you pick any character and perform a range of missions that go from actual historical parts that were not include in the game, to time attacks, defeating certain amount of enemies, and even "What if" stories.

BUT THERE IS NO FREE PLAY MODE!!!

That's right, you will not be able to choose your own stage and character to battle on whatever difficulty you want. The closest thing to doing that is unlocking a mission in Conquest mode and playing there while being forced to do the missions instead of "free" roaming. And even in story mode you can still pick the battles, but you can't pick the side or the character you want to play as. Free mode was one of my favorite modes in the entire series and I still can't believe they got rid of it. I know your trying to make the game more "Historically Accurate" Koei, but come on!

4. Story
Now the story of what Dynasty Warriors is about is that it's based on the romantic historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms (A good book I recommend) which is based on the Three Kingdoms Era and the events leading up to it. The game first focuses on the end of the Han Era by starting at the Yellow Turban Rebellion before moving on to the Tyranny of Dong Zhuo and after that the respective sides of each army. The three main armies are the virtuous Shu, the ambitious Wei, and the honorable Wu. You can occasionally play as other forces such as the Yellow Turbans, Dong Zhuo's army, Lu Bu's army, and Yuan Shao's army, but no storyline for these characters has existed since the fifth game.

All three sides mainly fight each other in order to hold dominance over the land of China, each having their own reasons. Shu wants to restore the Han Dynasty, Wei wants to create a new Dynasty or political way, and Wu....well they just want to be left alone, but get dragged in anyway.

Seven's story is more accurate to what actually happened in the historical novel with a new fraction known as Jin coming into play. For anybody who knows their Chinese history well enough it's known that Sima family took over Wei and dominated China making way for the Jin Dynasty. Kind of ironic that the real winner was none other then Sima Yi's family after all the hard work Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Quan went into only for it to come to nothing huh? So yeah, the first three fractions show what their part in history was while Jin finishes it all up by showing how they won. This style is much similar to Dynasty Warriors 4, which many claim to be the best, where instead of focusing on a character's storyline and impact in the war it focuses on the entire fraction. However, in Dynasty Warriors 4 you could choose your characters for the story, in this game you can't. You can only play the given character in the storyline which I kind find disappointing because I would want to play as the other characters during the level. Again this goes back to my rant about Free Mode being gone.

Still the story is very accurate in the game and it has it's own unique twists once and while so I still give it a good thumbs up.

5. Characters

The one thing that I love most about Dynasty Warriors is the way they portray the characters. Each one is unique and has their own personality that makes each character rememborable. You've got your honorable warrior ones who just plan kick ass like Guan Yu, Zhao Yun, Xu Huang, and Lu Meng. You've got your monsterous warriors like Lu Bu, Dian Wei, and Zhang Fei. Hot sexy girls like Diao Chan, Xing Cai, and Sun Shang Xiang. Even the strange ones likes Pang Tong, Wei Yan or Zhang He (Zhang He being the most obvious strange one).

And of course you got Zhuge Liang or as my friend Alex would call him: Super Chinese Jesus.

Making their way back to the Dynasty Warriors series are old characters such as Xing Cai, Jiang Wei, Meng Huo, and the Xiao sisters along with new characters such as Bao Shanniang, Jia Xu, Ding Feng, and an entire new fraction named Jin having characters such as Sima Shi, Xiahou Ba, and Zhong Hui. Each character plays well and has a unique Musou that fits well with their personality.

This is the largest date of characters that Koei has given us in a Dynasty Warriors game, it only seems a shame that we don't get free mode to play them all in.

6. Sound
Like the graphics, music and sound effects have gotten better and better. The awesome combination of Chinese music and rock makes you feel your adrenaline pumping and a need to kick ass Wu Xhu style. However on the negative side, the dubbing voices are not really good and some of their voices will be annoying. That isn't to say that some of them aren't good for instance I love Xiahou Dun's voice actor the most, but some like Sun Quan and Ma Chao could use a little work. Too bad they took away the ability to play the game in Japanese like in 5 or else then I wouldn't complain more.

OVERALL: 3.75/5

With Dynasty Warriors chances are you'll only like it if your a old fan like me or if you like hack and slashing repeatedly with cool effects or you like Chinese literature. Dynasty Warriors 7 does a much better job then Dynasty Warriors 6, but not up to the level that 4 and 5 were at. The inability to play free mode or choose what characters to play during the story mode weakens an overall improved gameplay and character settings list that made this game really great.

So if your already a Dynasty Warriors fan, I recommend you get the game. Everyone else? Rent it and see what goes from there.

We are gamers and we are legion.
